The ability to communicate is needed now more than ever; this is why I have chosen to go to college for a communications degree. I have found many career choices through my research. I have narrowed down my career options to just three. I have found that I want to be any of the three careers I have chosen. One of my career choices is to be radio personality. Through my research I found that to be one I need a communications degree. The best school this career is Stanford. The acceptance rate for this school is around 5%.
The net price to live there, pay tuition, and to get books is around 19,000. So knowing all of this I most likely will not be going there (Niche.com). The next best school is USC which is not much better. Something more in my range is going to a JC for 2 years. Then transferring to a 4 year. This is because I didn’t do well in high school so that plan seems the best for me.
For a communications degree some of the classes I must take include: Introduction to communications, communication research methods, media processes and effects, some writing classes, and statistics 60 (stanford). After college some steps I can take to become a radio personality include making a Demo tape is an important step. When you talk to a program director, the first question they’ll ask is to make your sample, I suggest getting in touch with a radio station in your area and asking them if you can get a tour of the radio station. Then once you’re at the station, ask if you would be able to make a demo tape. You would be amazed to find how many radio people are willing to help you out. If you can’t get into a real studio, then record yourself on an MP3 player and hand it in to a Program Director. As far as what you say on your sample. The next thing you’ll want to do is to talk with a program director. Discuss about your love for radio and that you’d love to help out the radio station in anyway you may. Once you have your demo tape, it’s time to send it to area program directors for your first chance to be on-air. Remember that each radio programmer is looking for certain types of voices for their radio station. Don’t be discouraged if you don’t get a callback right away or if they don’t think you’ll fit the station.
If you send out 100 CDs or MP3 samples, your chances are good that someone will think you have what it takes. So don’t give up. There are many people who say they’d like to become a radio announcer, but never pursue their dream. If you love radio enough and want it bad enough, I know that I be a great success. So after he moved on from KMEL he got hired by series XM for his show SWAY In the Morning. This is really where he became who he is. My next career choice is anouncer. They are the people who are talking during the sports games or giving interviews. For this I will also need a communications degree. In these roles you’ll likely be working to ensure your company is working well in all of its marketing materials while keeping a strong relationship with the public (top universities). Marketing, public relations and advertising are three more great answers to the question “what can you do with a communications degree?” In these related areas, communications graduates can be useful in delivering effective written and oral communication to consumers, colleagues or clients.

Depending on the hiring company however, there may be the possibility of gaining some additional qualifications while you work. The final option is education. To be hired within primary or secondary education you’ll need a teaching qualification. Depending on the country you want to work in this will take at least a year to obtain.
For tertiary education, at institutions such as colleges and universities, it is more likely that you’ll need a postgraduate qualification in a related specialization in order to teach.Of these choices I would most like to use my degree for Advertising. In addition to that, they make plans to extend business with established accounts and to transact business as agent for advertising accounts.
That all sounds good to me so it could be the career I ultimately decide on. I was really surprised this career was as appealing as it was because I had very little interest in it at first. I now know this could very well be an option for me. When all of this information was presented to me I was leaning heavily toward one option but I am now leaning toward a very different option..
