Charles Mintz had just gained the rights to Oswald the Lucky Rabbit as well as convinced Walt’s staff to walk out on the studio, leaving only Ub Iwerks. Iwerks actually drew the entirety of Plane Crazy with Walt and Roy Disney’s wives, Lillian and Edna, inking and painting along with Walt’s sister in law Hazel Swell.Well received by audiences the trouble was distributors panned Mickey or just never saw the toon. Without a distributor, Walt couldn’t afford to make a Mickey Mouse series. Steamboat Willies also sees the first appearance of Mickey and Pete together onscreen. Though this toon is Pete’s first appearance in a Mickey Mouse film, the character had previously been introduced in the Alice Comedies.

Another character introduced is Minnie in her trademarked flower hat she is shown as a, maiden trying to catch the boat before it leaves the dock. And same As pete she has had been in a comic strip where she first was seen. Minnie was designed in the fashion of flappers girl. Her main outfit consisted of a short flapper girl dress that often revealed her distinctive patched knickers.

You can tell flappers was the main idea by the way minnie looks and acts in the cartoons. Wild Waves is the 15th cartoon in the Mickey Mouse cartoon series. Wild Waves opens with Mickey as a beach lifeguard singing to the various beach animals. The animation of Mickey singing and rocking here and there to his musical beat. Another one of Mickey Mouse’s earlier cartoons was The Grocery Boy and this cartoon is not one of Mickey’s most know cartoons. The rest of the cartoon is Mickey chasing after Pluto cause he ran off with the turkey. This is just a little summary of the cartoon. The first Mickey cartoon where Mickey spoke was The Karnival Kid. And his toys are some of the hottest toys of the 1920s.The last cartoon for Mickey of 1929 was The Karnival Kid. And even tho this is the first cartoon Mickey talks in Disney does not like the way Mickey sound. After many voice actor Disney ends up voicing mickey for a few cartoon shorts till Disney found a voice actor that he liked. Many of Walt Disney workers and partners did not like the way he was so particular he was about Mickey Mouse cause it made him hard to work with on the cartoon shorts.
