The online technology “Google Docs” can be successful used for technology usage for education largely. The idea of online collaboration can be used for sharing and learning tool. It can be effectively used for sharing documents of all nature and also explore various options to communicate better.The collaborative learning environment depicts to a large extent the various requirements that are demanding the collaboration of the various communication platforms (Blau, 2010). The idea to ensure that the collaboration strategy for various documents as collaborators and viewers shape the right indulgence and create the right framework for better design and application.
As pointed out by Naish (2006) “Wikis are used in learning as an information resource, a collaboration tool, a tool for building e-learning content, and as icebreakers. The concept of workflow learning in action is thoroughly discussed”. Schaffert (2006) suggest the use of wikis in project-based learning, collaborative story writing, and interdisciplinary and intercultural learning.As pointed out by Watson and Dekeyser (2007) “Google Docs is a so-called web 2.0″ application. There is ample provision to create a document of various types from doc files to excel and presentation files too.
The authors can edit the document held at the database repository using their browser which is governed by the AJAX technology. The author would allow other to either share as either collaborator or viewer of the documents. “Google doc” is the learning product which has been developed to manage the various documents sharing across a large community of groups or students.Google Docs allows the provision for collaborative learning by taking into account synchronous editing, comment writing and saving various versions of the document after change by somebody else. Content sharing is very evident and in a university context, allows peer review of academic materials simultaneously and enhances knowledge sharing and collective group work without any hazards of losing the document integrity (Educause Learning Initiative, 2008).According to Ina Blau and Caspi (2009) conducted an experiment with 118 in various age groups for their use and feel about Google Docs and found that the responsibility of publishing is quite high than other forms of online activity. The ownership of one’s own document compared to peer’s document is relatively higher.3. As it can be operated online, it faces very less human issues in terms of accessibility.The technology “Google Docs” meets the capturing of the innovation of technology for the well being of the students and also to deeply involve the students in adopting the technology.
The technology “Google Docs” can be effectively used in the classrooms to share the various assignments and documents. The idea is to generate the level of curiosity to use the technology for teaching purpose. Any updation of the document in the real sharing environment would allow better use of the technology and also learning to use it well.1. A discussion of the benefits of using technology in the teaching profession.The benefits of the technology would be to use the online features and the collaboration technology to understand and use documents across various learning groups and technology.
The idea is to ensure that various ways of understanding the role of Google Docs is quite imperative in the university.
