In order for one to achieve ones dreams they must believe in themselves. One cannot count on money or others for them to pursue their dreams. In the novel “ A Raisin in the Sun” Lorraine Hansberry exemplifies that what you on to is the vision of what happens to people who has the wisdom and passion of their dreams coming true. But those who don’t are constantly being deferred and their dreams are like a dried up raisin the sun. “A Raisin in the Sun” is essentially about dreams, as the main characters struggle to deal with the oppressive circumstances that rule their lives.Every member of the Younger family has a separate individual dream. The Younger’s struggle to attain there dreams throughout the book. Even though Beneatha wants to become a doctor.

Walter wants to have money so that he can afford things for his family. Much of their happiness and depression is related to their attainment of failure to their dreams. As Walter says, “You wouldn’t understand yet, son, but your daddy’s gonna make a transaction…a business transaction that’s going to change our lives…”(108) Walter is a brave mann who is strong-willed but he puts all his inspiration and ambitions into investing into a liquor store.He thinks that the money that mama gets should put into the liquor store so that he can be financially stable for his family.

He also thinks that his dreams will not come true unless there is money to help him out with. He says that, “Cause sometimes its hard to let the future begin. ” (125) People in society are afraid of taking the chances to explore the up and downs for them to be sucsesssful and have their dreams come true.
