A. 1. Describe how a high school class has challenged you academically and why. A high school class that has challenged me was Civics that I took my freshman year. Usually if I am unfamiliar with something we are learning in class, I can catch on as we learn more about the subject or do things using the new concept.

Civics was a class that I did not catch on to as fast. Government has never been something I easily understand and there are so many things to know about it that it was harder for me to understand and remember than other classes. 2.According to NHS, “We should continue to learn even when formal education has ended. ” Describe a learning experience you have had outside of school and what you have learned from it. A learning experience I have had is working at the food shelf with my grandpa.

When I volunteered there I would help people pick out foods and how much of each they could have based on the size of their family. This taught me how much people care for each other. Having a food shelf available is such a blessing for people who have a hard time getting enough food on their own.It also made me realize how thankful I should be for having parents with a stable income to provide for my family. If those people have a hard time affording food for a month, they must have struggles paying for other things as well.

State specific examples and describe what you have learned from them.Some leadership activities I have participated in are the food drive on Halloween for FCCLA, planning fundraisers, and being a group leader for Vacation Bible School. These leadership activities have taught me how to work with and get along with other people, which is very useful in life. The activities have also taught me to stay organized and on top of tasks to get things done. C. 1. I have served the needs of others by working at the Minneota Manor.

I take care of the residents that live there. I help them get from one place to another, help them exercise, make sure they have good hygiene, and help them with things they are unable to do on their own. Working at the Minneota Manor has taught me to be patient with people and how to work with both the residents and my coworkers. It has made me respect the elderly so much. I learn a lot from the residents and care about them a lot.2.

One of the goals of NHS is “the creation of a better tomorrow. What changes do you see as necessary for the creation of a better tomorrow at Minneota High School and what steps would you take to achieve them? A change at Minneota High School that could help create a better tomorrow could be having more classes for the preparation of college or a wider variety of electives to fit the interests of more students. Some steps we could take to achieve this would be to provide more funding for these new classes that would be available. We could also take a student survey to know what classes would interest the students or benefit them the most.
