Musical theater has many different manners of music within its ranks, and the show that I late saw focused on Rock Musicals. On Saturday, April 29, 2000 I saw & # 8220 ; Rock On! Broadway! & # 8221 ; at the Cabaret @ The Spot. It was a superb musical review of vocals from Rock Musicals, directed by Glen J. Beck. The shows dialogue honored many critics in the sense that the lines were existent point of views on the musicals from the critics & # 8217 ; reappraisals. Twelve different pieces were performed, each from a different stone musical, and the respective shows were discussed within the duologue either before or after the vocal was performed. The selected vocals were: & # 8220 ; Aquarius & # 8221 ; ( Hair ) , & # 8220 ; Honestly Sincere & # 8221 ; ( Bye, Bye, Birdie ) , & # 8220 ; I Don & # 8217 ; t Know How To Love Him & # 8221 ; ( Jesus Christ Superstar ) , & # 8220 ; Corner In The Sky & # 8221 ; ( Pippin ) , & # 8220 ; Suddenly Seymour & # 8221 ; ( Little Shop Of Horrors ) , & # 8220 ; I Know Him So Well & # 8221 ; ( Chess ) , & # 8220 ; My Body & # 8221 ; ( The Life ) , & # 8220 ; Without You & # 8221 ; ( Rent ) , & # 8220 ; Any Dream Will Do & # 8221 ; ( Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat ) , & # 8220 ; Home & # 8221 ; ( The Wiz ) , & # 8220 ; Summer Nights & # 8221 ; ( Grease ) , and & # 8220 ; Time Warp & # 8221 ; ( The Rocky Horror Picture Show ) .The audience was packed, and I believe that every place was taken.
The audience truly seemed to bask the show, and was really lively, invariably claping, and heartening the performing artists. The theatre infinite sits about 100 people, with a instead little phase. I particularly enjoyed the public presentation of Jim Pazner, who ne’er fails to convey many laughs to a show. Everyone performed magnificently, and showed non-stop energy for the full eventide.
The costumes that the characters wore were really basic, but besides really effectual. The costumes helped to make the temper of the show/song that the performing artists were animating. & # 8220 ; Rock On! Broadway! & # 8221 ; was one of the best musicals that I have seen in a long clip. The full crew did a superb occupation of seting the production together. I know fist manus how hard it is to set on a Cabaret show, and this group of people truly made it look instead easy.
