Methamphetamine diet aid and a protection from

Methamphetamine has been around for a long time, nevertheless it has became more powerful over the recent years due to the production process and technology.

The creation of Amphetamine was first made in 1887 in Germany. Likewise, methamphetamine more durable was developed in Japan in 1919. Methamphetamine had been increased in use during World War II, as it had been used as a way to keep troops alert. High doses were given out to Japanese Kamikaze pilots before their suicide missions had occurred. While after the warfare, methamphetamine drug abuse occurred by injection hit epidemic proportions when shops for the purpose of  military use became for the whole public.Around the mid 20th century, methamphetamine had been prescribed as part of a diet aid and a protection from depression (although if abused could be the cause). Easily available, it was often used as part of a nonmedical stimulant used by college students, truck drivers and athletes and abuse of the drug spread.

Although, the process had slowly changed in the 1960´s. While in 1970, the U.S. government took more control in the substance as to making it illegal for most uses. Later on, American biker gangs controlled most of the production and distribution of the drug.

An abundance of users lived in rural communities as well they could not afford expensive products. In the 1990s, Mexican drug trafficking companies had created an abundance of meth labs in california. Methamphetamine usually comes in the form of a crystalline white powder that is odorless, bitter-tasting and dissolves easily in water or alcohol.Other colors of powder have been observed, including brown, yellow-gray, orange and even pink. It can also be compressed into pill form.

As covered earlier, it can be snorted, smoked or injected.Crystal meth comes in clear chunky crystals resembling ice and is most commonly smoked. Crystal meth is short for crystal methamphetamine. It is just one form of the drug methamphetamine.Methamphetamine is a white crystalline drug that people take by snorting it (inhaling through the nose), smoking it or injecting it with a needle.

Some even take it orally, but all develop a strong desire to continue using it because the drug creates a false sense of happiness and well-being—a rush (strong feeling) of confidence, hyperactiveness and energy. One also experiences decreased appetite. These drug effects generally last from six to eight hours, but can last up to twenty-four hours.

The first experience might involve some pleasure, but from the start, methamphetamine begins to destroy the user’s life. Methamphetamine is an illegal drug in the same class as cocaine and other powerful street drugs. It has many nicknames—meth, crank, chalk or speed being the most common.

Crystal meth’s effect is highly concentrated, and many users report getting hooked (addicted) from the first time they use it.Crystal meth is used by individuals of all ages, but is most commonly used as a “club drug,” taken while partying in night clubs or at rave parties. Its most common street names are ice or glass. It is a dangerous and potent chemical and, as with all drugs, a poison that first acts as a stimulant but then begins to systematically destroy the body. Thus it is associated with serious health conditions, including memory loss, aggression, psychotic behavior and potential heart and brain damage.Highly addictive, meth burns up the body’s resources, creating a devastating dependence that can only be relieved by taking more of the drug. Methamphetamine is a synthetic (man-made) chemical, unlike cocaine, for instance, which comes from a plant.

Meth is commonly manufactured in illegal, hidden laboratories, mixing various forms of amphetamine (another stimulant drug) or derivatives with other chemicals to boost its potency. Common pills for cold remedies are often used as the basis for the production of the drug. The meth “cook” extracts ingredients from those pills and to increase its strength combines the substance with chemicals such as battery acid, drain cleaner, lantern fuel and antifreeze.

Methamphetamine is a commonly viewed as a dangerous substance when used in non-medical situations. Despite the dangers, use remains high in the US and even higher overseas in Europe, Asia, and Australia. As many as half of people that seek drug treatment in the Czech Republic, Sweden, Finland, Slovakia, and Latvia seek it for addiction to methamphetamine. These dangerous chemicals are potentially explosive and because the meth cooks are drug users themselves and disoriented, they are often severely burned and disfigured or killed when their preparations explode. Such accidents endanger others in nearby homes or buildings. The illegal laboratories create a lot of toxic waste as well—the production of one pound of methamphetamine produces five pounds of waste. People exposed to this waste material can become poisoned and sick.

When taken, meth and crystal meth create a false sense of well-being and energy, and so a person will tend to push his body faster and further than it is meant to go. Thus, drug users can experience a severe “crash” or physical and mental breakdown after the effects of the drugs wear off. Due to continued use of the drug decreases natural feelings of hunger, users can experience extreme weight loss.

Negative effects can also include disturbed sleep patterns, hyperactivity, nausea, delusions of power, increased aggressiveness and irritability. Other serious effects can include insomnia, confusion, hallucinations, anxiety and paranoia.1 In some cases, use can cause convulsions that lead to death. While, meth drug  abuse can be the cause of harm. One example could be an increase in a person’s heart rate as well as blood pressure. At a job I had been employed at when younger a co-worker had been affiliated with meth, and she had major heart problems. I personally think if people took time to realize how bad meth affects the body we would have less users. Although, then i think to myself that people do bad things to their body often.

In mid-1995, there had been a  government effort to reduce the supply of methamphetamine it had been disrupted the methamphetamine market and interrupted a trajectory of increasing usage of the product. The cost of methamphetamine had rapidly increased and purity declined from 90 percent to 20 percent. Simultaneously, amphetamine related hospital and treatment admissions dropped 50 percent and 35 percent, respectively. Methamphetamine use among arrestees declined 55 percent. Although felony methamphetamine arrests fell 50 percent, there is no evidence of substantial reductions in property or violent crime. The impact was largely temporary. The price returned to its original level within four months; purity, hospital admissions, treatment admissions, and arrests approached pre-intervention levels within eighteen months. ¨Possessing meth, let alone using it, is a crime in every state and in the federal system.

The prosecutor need only convince the judge or jury, beyond a reasonable doubt, that the defendant knew that the substance he possessed and/or used was meth. The requirements for proving possession of precursor drugs or paraphernalia are similarly straightforward. For instance, in a federal prosecution, the prosecutor must convince the jury that the defendant knew (or had reasonable grounds to conclude) that the items possessed would be used to manufacture meth. Defendants charged with possession or use sometimes defend themselves by arguing that they had a valid prescription. This is a difficult defense to present, because it requires the defendant to produce an actual prescription from a medical doctor, as well as pharmacy records¨ according to attorney portmans point of view at least.

Methamphetamine presents major issues and resources place a need for State and local public safety and law enforcement. The process of community resource coordination and completion of new skills and alliances are basic keys to take on the challenges following up to methamphetamine abuse. I am hoping that people realize the wrong of the drug abuse as any drug can be the cause of addiction.

Methamphetamine creates the separation of what is real from what is not and when that is loss in a human being there’s nothing else.ReferencesAbadinsky, H. (2018).
