I believe I control most of the events that happen in my life. Now. on the other terminal an external venue of control is when a individual believes that they by and large do non hold control of the events that affect their life ( Myers. 2012.
p. 1 ) .The two dependable beginnings I found that provided information on Locus of Control were www.
ncrel. org and World Wide Web. psych. uncc. edu.
After carry oning some research I have determined that there are positive and negative results for both internal and external venue of control. The of import thing is to maintain a balance between them. Some positive internal venue of control state of affairss are when you study difficult and acquire an A in your trial or when you enter a competition and win. In these state of affairss you controlled the event in your life. The negative facet of an internal venue of control is that in some instances you can’t command the events that affect your life. For illustration being diagnosed with colon malignant neoplastic disease or holding surgery to take your bowel.
In these state of affairss are individual with an internal venue of control may experience hopeless and fault them egos for non forestalling it. When it comes to an external venue of control the positive facet of it is that when state of affairss arise that individual will most likely property it to something else. For illustration. they would state it was luck if they won the lottery or the instructor was in a good temper if they got a C in their math category. In negative instances they will fault others for the result because they believe they don’t have any control over the events that happened in their life. An illustration would be if they don’t do their prep because their ma forgot to purchase paper or if they have an accident and rear terminal the individual in forepart of them and fault the other driver for halting suddenly. In my sentiment. it is better to hold an internal venue of control.
The ground why I believe this is because in most instances we have control over certain events that happen in our life. Having an external venue of control would give the individual no sense of duty for their actions since they feel they do non hold control over it. A individual with an internal venue of control is more responsible. successful. easy motivated and ever looking for betterment within them.
A individual with an external venue of control is less responsible. blames everyone else for their failures. is less motivated and success is something they feel will go on if others achieve it for them.Depending on the state of affairs or the life event these two have to be balanced. If you’re a individual with an internal venue of control like me and we experience a state of affairs that is out of our custodies we have to accept that and understand that non everything in life can be controlled. Some things are traveling to go on no affair what we do. In instances like this is when it’s good to hold an external venue of control because for some people non being in control all the clip and sing a state of affairs that is out of their custodies can be damaging for their self-pride.
When an event arises we should be able to logically look at the state of affairs and analyse if there was anything we could hold done different to work out the job or avoided it and measure the determinations we made that concluded with the terminal consequence. Once you analyze the state of affairs you can find if altering the stairss you took would hold changed the terminal consequence. If it wouldn’t have changed the out come so it was out of your custodies and you should see it as an external venue alternatively of an internal venue.
