John Lennon; an Inspiration Essay
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. ”(John Quincy Adams)This is the type of inspirational leader John Lennon was. Lennon loved musical technology and was extremely important in bringing certain techniques to the front. In the 1960s, the Beatles helped influence the way music was recorded. The band had a strong impact on the evolution of sound, including techniques such as audio feedback, sampling, Artificial Double Tracking, and the use of multi-track recording machines. John Lennon was a musical master and would spend countless hours in the studio experimenting with new ideas.
Lennon was not only a musical master, but also an inspirational figure of his time. John Lennon’s torch of inspiration has been passed down through his actions/words and his music. Lennon states that life is about happiness, and also violence is never the answer. In addition, he also says that no matter how much good you do in life people just want to make you look ruthless. After his death, his message still lives on in the minds of many people, including me. There is no question that John Lennon’s overall message remained 32 years after his death; “life is happiness”. When I went to school, they asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. I wrote down “happy”. They told me I didn’t understand the assignment, and I told them they didn’t understand life. ”(John Lennon)
In his statement, he justifies that happiness is the meaning of life; we should all be happy when we grow up. Because of Lennon’s inspirational message, it helped me understand life a little better. The summer of 1969, at the height of the Vietnam War protest movement, Lennon wrote and recorded a song simply titled “Give Peace a Chance. The song became an international hit and inspired a large collection of anti-war protests in the late 1960s and early 1970s. At this time in history, John Lennon and Yoko Ono (Lennon’s wife) were important peace activists. They organized famous rallies and developed protest concepts such as bagism (wearing a bag) and bed peace. To me it seems that people forget the important events that happened around the world and how they were stopped. What Lennon has taught me, is that ideas are eternal and unbreakable, living on to transpire to the youth.
With this, he uses his pen as a way to express and defend his beliefs. This has really inspired me. Through his actions, words and music, he shows that using violence is not always the answer; there is always an alternative way to stop wars and corruption. Lennon was regularly battered by the press in the United States who fabricated stories to make him look bad. This trend has continued to the present day with hundreds of online articles giving material about isolated events in the life of Lennon and making false claims about his true personality.
Lennon was a musical pioneer and peaceful man. He helped introduce the world to rock & roll and free thought. For this, we will forever be grateful. From what I have learned from Lennon, certain people seem to be overcome by jealousy. As well, no matter how successful you are, there is always someone who wants to see you fail. Lennon’s music as well as the Beatles music was not understood well in the U. S in the beginning. As time went by, their music was simply impeccable, and very inspirational.
John Lennon influenced the way I feel about society. Lennon’s words show how happiness is the way of life. As well, peace and love can be hard to achieve in a world full of hatred and corruption. Lennon’s message will always be engraved in my head. His music and lyrics don’t seem to dissatisfy anyone. Lennon was a great activist, song writer, as well as a great inspiration. Several people say inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative. If so, who inspires you?
