In the world of mythology there are many different kinds of myths.
Myths are stories that stories that seem to occur sometime in history but actually never happen. One type of myth is a hero myth which is where the hero does something heroic,gains fame, lives a happy life, and then dies a sad death.The story Pegasus and Bellerophon is about a flying horse named Pegasus who helps a young man named Bellerophon slay the evil monster Chimera who haunts and tortures the country of Lycia. This myth is a Hero Myth This is a hero myth with Bellerophon being the hero because in the article he says to Pegasus “Beautiful horse, do not fly away. Help me kill a monster which makes a whole country unhappy.
Bellerophon is in fact the hero and he has to get Pegasus to help him kill The Chimera and this is the start of the main point in the story.The quote says that the hero Bellerophon needs help from the beautiful horse Pegasus to kill The Chimera. This means this story is a hero myth because the hero is seeking help and is also on a quest to do something.tt is Evident that this is in fact a hero myth because it follows the key aspects necessary. For example the hero after the whole journey dies a special death. He brags to much and insults the gods and Zeus (the king of all gods) punishes him by zapping him when he tries to come up to the heavens and he falls of Pegasus and the fall leaves him blind where he eventually dies forgotten and alone which is special because one doesn’t usually die like that especially a hero.
This myth is significant because the hero usually dies in an accident or even on another righteous adventure instead of a sad death as a punishment by the gods.example horses with wings that we don’t have as well as the gods coming down to earth and punishing people.Pegasus and Bella Theron is a myth about ….This myth has many of the features of traditionals myths such as supernatural events and explaining unreal events.

It was part lion, part goat and part dragon. Its breath of fire burned many fields and cottages. It ate cattle and people.”This This supports my claim about it being a fairy tale type myth. It also supports it because we have never found a creatures skeleton that was part lion,goat, and part dragon and the second set of evidence is that if there was a creature that big enough to eat humans and burn cottages with a single breath of fire we would certainly have evidence and fossils of it.
