Climate which is a major cause behind

Climate change has pushed Earth into uncharted territory. Due to the rising temperatures, each day one inch of ice melts from our polar ice caps.

This in turn adds to the rising sea levels, as well as reduces arctic habitats. By reducing arctic habitats, animals are left with little option for finding a home. Global warming is a glaring issue and as a sole contributor, we need to make steps towards repairing our mistakes. Global warming is caused by natural events and human interaction with the environment that are believed to contribute to the change in average temperatures. According to the National Climate Assessment, “human influences are the number one cause of global warming, especially the carbon pollution we cause by burning fossil fuels and the pollution-capturing we prevent by destroying forests.

The carbon dioxide, methane, soot, and other pollutants we release into the atmosphere act like a blanket, trapping the Sun’s heat and causing the planet to warm (Global).”The ozone layer is a sphere of  naturally occurring gas made up of oxygen and hydrogen that encapsulates the earth. The ozone layer protects the Earth from the harmful rays of the Sun from destroying all plant life. Without the ozone layer plants would not be able to grow, this life would not exist.

“Today, there is a widespread fear that the ozone layer is deteriorating due to the release of pollution containing the chemicals chlorine and bromine. Because of this deterioration this allows harmful ultraviolet B rays from the Sun to reach the Earth, which can cause cancer and cataracts in adults and animals.”(Global) The destruction of ozone layer is caused by one factor only which is Chlorofluorocarbons.

The main cause of the ozone hole was found to be gases that contained Chlorofluorocarbons, Halons and Freons. Often found in spray cans and released by many appliances, these were linked to the decrease the level of ozone in the stratosphere. All of these gases contain chlorine, which is a major cause behind the thinning of the ozone layer.

The Earth’s climate has changed throughout history.During the ice age and thawin point it changed. Today’s warming is of importance and concern because it is highly likely to be the result of human activity.

The planet’s average surface temperature has risen about 2.0 degrees Fahrenheit since the late 19th century, a change driven largely by increased carbon dioxide and other human-made emissions into the atmosphere. The causes of global warming can be directly linked to CO2 levels varied in tandem with the glacial cycles.

During warm periods, CO2 levels were higher. During cool “glacial” periods, CO2 levels were lower. When incoming energy from the Sun is absorbed by the Earth system, Earth warms. When the Sun’s energy is reflected back into space, Earth avoids warming. When absorbed energy is released back into space, Earth cools. Most of these climate changes are attributed to very small changes in Earth’s orbit that influence the amount of solar energy earth receives. Although many people believe that global warming is an issue, there are still plenty of people who do not believe that global warming is even a true concept.

One example is the President of United States. President Donald Trump does not appear to believe in climate change at all. In an interview with Vanity Fair, he had said, “there is a cooling and there is a heating, and I mean, look—it used to not be climate change. It used to be global warming.

Right? . . .

That was not working too well, because it was getting too cold all over the place. The ice caps were going to melt, they were going to be gone by now, but now they are setting records, so O.K., they are at a record level (Thompson).” President Trump has also made plans to set back the environmental regulations that were passed when Barack Obama was present, such as the effort to limit carbon emissions. There is numerous pieces of evidence that shows that global warming is in fact a threat that the world is faced with and should not be taken lightly. Although there are people out there with numerous arguments against global warming, most are not backed up by scientific evidence, but rather biased beliefs that they will never consider to be wrong.

It is safe to say that global warming has attributed to the extreme weather imbalance we have experienced this year. To the hurricanes in the east, to the drought and wildfires in the west, the insurmountable snow the Midwest has had, they can be directly linked to global warming. Global warming affects not just humans, but every living thing on the planet. As humans it is our responsibility, if not duty, to seek out ways to repair the damage we have done to God’s green earth. If ignorance to theses prevalent problems exists, then no progress will be made. The Arctic is rapidly melting away as time goes on, the animals that live in arctic regions are becoming more endangered every day. The rising ocean levels are on the rise and have eroded away the settlements of houses and trees and plants.

The ozone layer is thinning along with biologist patience with aerosol companies to reduce their emissions. WIth your help, climate change could be minimalized and the Earth could experience a better environment. Global warming has changed the world but we have the power, if we are determined to get back how God intended us to be. Clean and pure, to rid the world of our physical sins we have inflicted upon it. Climate change has launched earth into uncharted territory. We are breaking weather records every year.

With this kind of downward spiral there needs to be change, and that change is now.
